in the last couple of weeks i've been exploring often lesser known artists - I started by coming across a website on female artists of the early 20th century & there were some amazing finds....then, in growing anticipation of my trip to Japan & Korea soon, I decided also to build a photo album on my facebook profile of artists from Japan (both well known & lesser known)....it's been mind boggling to explore all these names & see some stunning work which, in quite a lot of cases, seems to have fallen out of fashion....

musically speaking my ears have been taking in a new disc of british cello concertos on the Dutton Epoch label - a label that specialises in neglected works by composers of the 20th century & whats more the covers are always nice too....this new double cd features works by Havergal Brian, York Bowen & Alan Bush....
