. this morning Pheobe played the new tune she's written on the piano to me down the phone....lovely it was too & we shall record it soon to keep !

. spent the afternoon exploring the wolds with Ms. Newton....looking at monoliths, monuments, green fields....as we drove through the village of Wold Newton Amy told me about the first meteorite collected & recorded in the UK (18th century) that landed there, the spot being marked by a stone bearing a plaque....we stopped in the village to look at the painted map board & watched a thrush singing atop it....I told her about the chap who invented the metal spindle umbrella who lived in East Yorkshire & we stopped in Driffield for beans on toast / bean & chips at a very 'small market town cafe' looking cafe....villages such as Luttons, Cowlam Bottoms, Thwing, Octon & more went past or where signed in black letters on the white wooden signposts....at Cowlam crossing a car stood parked in the midde of one road....
